About Christophe Lemaitre Christophe Lemaitre (born 11 June 1990 in Annecy, France) is a French sprinter, who specialises in the 100 metres and 200 metres. He is the French 100 metre record holder with a time of 9.98 seconds as well as being the first Caucasian to break the 10-second barrier. He is also tied with Gilles Quénéhervé as the French 200 metre record holder. He won the European Championships 100m title in Barcelona on 28th July 2010. On 30 July 2010 he added to his 100m gold medal by coming back from 7th place to win the 200m.
