About Fatemeh M. Aria Fatemeh Motamed-Aria (Persian: فاطمه معتمد آریا , born 29 October 1961 in Tehran) is a multi-award winning Iranian actress. - Commenced her activities at the arts training classes of “ The Children’s Mental Development Center” in 1974. - Entered “The Faculty of Arts “ to study drama in 1976 ,during which period she also had several performances in various domestic and international children and teenagers’ festivals. - Her professional debut performance in Hassan Dadshokr’s “Bookworm” in 1976. -Cooperated with the students of drama from “The University of Fine Arts”, performing in the plays, “Petty Borjoa” and “Deer”. -Graduated in acting major from “Tehran Faculty of Arts” in 1979. - Had a one-year experience in improvised theater performance . - Recording more than 50 puppet shows for the TV since 1979 including, “ The Sky & The Rope” , “ Mice City” , “Grandma’s House”, “The Eventful Neighborhood” (Mahale ye Borobia, “Auntie Frog”, etc. - First appearance at cinema in 1985 with the movie, “Struggle” . - Acting in over 40 movies. - Winner of 4 “Fajr Film Festival” awards and over 14 press prizes form Canada, Germany, Egypt and France. -Receiving tributes in France, America and Switzerland. -Served as a member of team of judges at international festivals e.g., Torino Festival (Italy), Vesovel Festival ( France) , Cairo Festival (Egypt), Delhi Festival (India), Isfahan Short Films Festival (international), Varosh Film Festival, Isfahan Children’s Festival, Festival of Free Cinema and puppetry festivals. -The first female member of The House of Cinema’s Management Board. -Member of The Board of Founders of The Performers Society of The Iranian Cinema. -Seven years of membership in the Management Board of The Performers Society of The Iranian Cinema. -The founder of the first International Cinematic Workshop in Iran, 2004.
