About Mohammed Noor
Mohammed Noor (Arabic: محمد نور) (born February 26, 1978) is a football (soccer) player from Saudi Arabia. He plays for the club side Al-Ittihad and has been called the Saudi Patrick Vieira. His first appearance with national football team was in 1999 FIFA Confederations Cup in Semi finals against Brazil. Noor played for Saudi Arabia in the 2002 World Cup, without any real success. He fared better in the FIFA Club World Championship 2005 in Japan for Al-Ittihad. While playing for the Saudi national team on June 14, 2006, Noor managed to deliver a powerful performance while also having come down with a bad case of the flu. During the second half of the Saudi Arabian game against Tunisia (their opening match of the 2006 FIFA World Cup), he provided Al-Qahtani with the winning assist which secured Saudi Arabia's first goal of the match, bringing the score from a 1-0 lead for Tunisia to a 1-1 tie. Mohammed Noor is considered as one of the best players in Saudi Arabia and Asia.
In the current season he has received the captain's armband, preceding Khamis Alzahrani. Mohammed Noor has been in his best form to date. He scored two goals against Al-Nasr with two brilliant headers, his team eventually won 5-1.
