About Petar Naumoski Petar Naumoski (Macedonian: Петар Наумоски, Petar Naumoski) (born 27 August 1968 in Prilep,SR Macedonia, SFR Yugoslavia) is a former Yugoslav and Macedonian basketball player who had successful years especially in Turkey and Italy. He was a point-guard - great playmaker. In 2002, he was elected to the Assembly of Republic of Macedonia as a member of VMRO-DPMNE. He once served as Sport Minister of the Republic of Macedonia. He was a point guard, standing at 1.94 m height. He also has a Turkish passport by the name of Namık Polat, as well as Italian citizenship. In June 2007, some Turkish newspapers claimed that Efes Pilsen is considering him as the new head coach of the club replacing Oktay Mahmuti. However, the Turkish club opted for David Blatt.
