About Štepánka Hilgertová Štěpánka Hilgertová (Czech pronunciation: ˈʃcɛpaːŋka ˈɦɪlɡɛrtovaː) (born 10 April 1968 in Prague) is a Czechoslovak-Czech slalom canoer who has competed since the early 1990s. Competing in five Summer Olympics, she won two gold medals in the K-1 event, earning them in 1996 and 2000.Hilgertová also won nine medals at the ICF Canoe Slalom World Championships with four golds (K-1: 1999, 2003; K-1 team: 2003, 2005), four silvers (K-1: 1997, K-1 team: 1991, 2006, 2007), and a bronze (K-1: 2007). The K-1 team silver in 1991 was with Czechoslovakia while the remaining medals were for the Czech Republic. She was born in Prague.
